In 12 Months, 15 Million Victims of Identity Theft
Reported over $1 Billion in losses
Albuquerque,
NM. (May 2007)
The increase in online crime has police and government
agencies nationwide preparing for a twenty-first century
show down. One of those crime fighters is fictional
Chicago Police Detective, Kerry Grant, the computer guru
of the Twenty-third District.
Kerry takes her expertise undercover with
the mob. There, she teaches eager cyber thugs online
swindles and scams while checking out their involvement
in internet crime. Unfortunately, they catch her hacking
into their system, and she realizes she taught them one
trick too many. As she reaches for her weapon, she
faces the barrel end of a gun in the hand of a man she
doesn’t want to love.
Detective Grant never expected the
undercover job to lead to a romantic relationship,
especially one doomed to fail. In Identity Murder,
she deals with the loss along with her personal demons
as she continues to chase virtual criminals who fire
real bullets.
A section at the end of the book carries
information on what to do if your identity is stolen,
and how to prevent some of the scams that are being run.
This is the first in the Kerry Grant
series. Should Old Acquaintance be Dead and A
Chilling Goodbye will be released soon.
